What awaits you in this role?

We are looking for a passionate The Emergency Response Coordinator who will join our team at HQ Occupational Safety directorate.

 

  • Determine possible emergencies and prepare Emergency Risk Assessments for all Company globally including night and shift working, weekends and times when the premises are closed (holidays, etc.)
  • Identify various potential hazards and risks that may arise in the event of an emergency, develops plans to mitigate or manage those risks.
  • Prepare the Emergency Management System Guideline of Arçelik Global and conduct Internal Emergency Management System Audits regularly.
  • Monitor and report compliance with the Regulation on the prevention of Major Industrial Accidents and the reduction of their effects (Seveso Directives)
  • Collaborate with the Process Safety Critical Roles at the Plants for preventing the fire and explosion risks.
  • Review and analyze existing Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans; makes recommendations for modifications to improve safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of the plans.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate evacuation meetings, trainings, exercises and drills as required.
  • Develop, distribute and maintain Emergency Communication Protocols and Documentation, which may include Emergency Contact Trees, Emergency Response Hierarchy and other records.   
  • Ensure that relevant policies and procedures are up to date and in compliance with applicable legislation requirements.
  • Ensure Local Law requirements, National and Local Fire Protection Codes and industry requirements are addressed in the emergency documentation and implemented. When applicable, submit plans to appropriate regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
  • Monitors and assesses work environment for situations requiring activation of emergency procedures.
  • Ensure coordination of measurements and evaluations to be protected from the negative effects of emergencies.
  • Direct emergency efforts, collaborating with Facility Managers regarding partial or complete evacuations and evacuating employees.
  • Reviews Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans with employees and supervisors; provides updates when employee responsibilities or assigned actions change. 
  • Regularly inspect and monitor the evacuation paths, exits, exit accesses and meeting points are clear and free of obstructions.
  • Organize, monitor and control the compliance of emergency teams for locations
  • Organize, monitor and control the compliance of search and rescue teams process and activities
  • Prepare and revise the Arcelik Search and Rescue Team procedures and protocols.
  • Train the emergency critical roles for emergency procedures.
  • Ensure communication with organizations outside the workplace, especially in the fields of first aid, emergency medical intervention, rescue and fire fighting.
  • Ensure that the personal protective equipment and response equipment to be used in emergency situations are always suitable and in good condition.

 

This position is located in Sütlüce, İstanbul.

 

How we describe the perfect match?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Emergency Management, or related field. 
  • At least 8 years of experience in an emergency management field, such as law enforcement, fire safety, or military service, preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or related certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • In this role an emergency management coordinator must anticipate hazards and problems that may arise from an emergency in order to respond quickly and effectively.
  • Important and timely decisions are often made in this job during stressful situations. Being able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of all solutions and approaches, as well as the costs and benefits of each action is key. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Emergency management coordinators are responsible for working with other government agencies, law enforcement and fire officials, and the community to coordinate emergency responses.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Fluent English (Advanced or Proficiency Level)
